Test Your Ability to Focus

Everyone can say they can focus. But put it to the test.

See if you have self control and the ability to pick something and do it. Or better yet, do nothing.

This is not to test your willpower or your will in general.

It is to prove that you can focus and that you don’t need what you think you do, so that you can focus.

It is to prove to yourself that you can do something that you desire to do.

For the majority of the people, social media and phones are the biggest distractions. They are the reason why people are less productive, are more tired, and less happy.

I can’t answer why you use your phone so much. Maybe it just became a habit. Or maybe you are trying to avoid something.

I am going to guess that you can do something better with your time, but you choose not to. This includes: learning something, reading, writing, thinking, working out, or sleeping.

I also believe a lot of going on social media is due to FOMO (fear of missing out). Yes, even in 2026.

But remember, what is posted online, will be online. You don’t need to check it multiple times a day, or sadly multiple times an hour or within a 10 minute span.

Because of FOMO, I think the best thing you can do to increase your ability to BELIEVE you can focus is to set aside time or even a number of days of not using it. And live through that.

And during this time of less distraction (because I believe social media and phones are a significant distraction), ask yourself if it is really as bad as you thought? Or can you survive.

I think the answer will surprise you.

Focus more. Scroll less. This is the way.

Be Bold. Be Alpha.
